10.28.16 - 2017 Chevrolet Corvette

There is one car on the market that represents the pinnacle of driving and is attainable by many of modest incomes. The Corvette has long represented the super car built in America that competes highly with Aston Martin and Porsche models while offering the price which keeps it a car of reality and not just of dreams. Those who grow up dreaming of buying their own house and having a Corvette to drive in America have been able to achieve that dream nearly as often as they want to, making the Corvette the symbol of hard working Americans everywhere.

As a high powers sport car the Corvette has top end performance and premium style and features . This is a car that would be difficult to dislike as it offers you the driving manners you want and the beautiful build that you look for in a fantastic super car. For 2017 the big news is the addition of the Grand Sport edition which is a racing inspired Corvette that you can drive on the road. This model brings in a wider body and performance enhancements that were found on the Z06 but with the Stingray’s V8 engine. Adding the Z07 package to the Grand Sport this car can make short work of nearly any turn on the track.

Under the hood of this powerful sports car you will see one engine that’s set up two different ways. This engine uses either a seven-speed manual or eight speed automatic transmission to handle the shifting that will keep the car as a smooth ride. This engine used is a 6.2-liter V8 and for the Stingray model the power is 455 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque while the power is bumped up to 460 ponies and 465 lb.-ft. of torque with the performance exhaust attached.

The Z06 model takes this engine and adds supercharging to the equation to come out with 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the most powerful production car made by GM and it’s the one that many have wanted to drive for nearly sixty years. Even with the massive power of this supercharged engine you will still have fuel mileage that allows you to enjoy over twenty mpg on the highway to make the Corvette a car you can even take for a road trip and have a fantastic ride that doesn’t suck all your money down the gas tank.

As mentioned, the Corvette is the supercar that you can afford, at least at some point in your life. Most supercars typically cost well into the six figures for the price, but the Corvette starts out at $56,445 for the coupe and $60,445 for the convertible model. The Grand Sport coupe and convertible both start at $10,000 more than the Stingray. The Z06 comes in at $81,30 in the coupe model and $85,390 for a convertible. You can easily spend more on several options to include more than $24,000 on the C7.R Special Edition model features for the Corvette.

When you look to the Corvette for your driving excitement the Z51 performance model makes a great choice for the Stingray which brings in upgraded brakes, an improved suspension, a better oiling system, much better tires and a cooling system that can help this car perform much better than on the base model. This package is also able to bring in an electronic limited slip differential, a performance exhaust system, Magnetic Ride Control and a navigation system to give you a car that’s perfect on both the track and the road to be the car you want to drive more often.

Even when you start at the base model you’ll have a car that’s a joy to drive as this car can reach sixty mph in 3.7 seconds or less. The perfect balance of the Chevrolet Corvette is only found in a much smaller sports car from Mazda, making the Corvette the superpower that cuts up the corners in a way that most other sports cars can’t. You can move up the Corvette line for more performance and power and have the Corvette that’s right for you. This is a sports car that gives you the drive you’ve been looking for at the price you can afford. If you’ve never turned heads on the road, you’ll have a completely new experience when you take off in your new Corvette.
