2017 Lexus LS: Checking Off the Boxes for You

02.20.17 - Lexus LS 500

When you’re shopping for a great luxury car to drive there are tons of options on the market. The nameplates that are most familiar to you will give you something you’re looking for in the name, but might leave out what you need to make your choice for luxury driving one that has true value. Lexus has been the luxury brand that has given other brands headaches for years because this brand offers you more of what you want for a lower price than most of the similar models from other automakers.

The Lexus LS is a gorgeous sedan that brings you the smooth ride and impressive quality you’re looking for. With the loss of the hybrid LS 600h the lineup remains with only the LS 460 and longer wheelbase LS 460 L for you to choose. The smaller model is still offered with the F Sport package for you to choose when you want serious performance. When you have the luxury features of the LS you’ll be able to enjoy a build that has been perfected to give you the ride you want and the quality that will make a huge difference on the road for you.

While the LS is not going to be the car you’re chauffeured around that’s perfectly fine. This is a large luxury sedan that you want to be able to drive on your own, especially if you do add the excitement of the F Sport package to the car. The Lexus LS is scheduled to be updated for the 2018 model year and as such it doesn’t have many changes added to it for 2017. The only changes to note are the two new special edition packages and the fact the hybrid model has been dropped from the market.

The Lexus LS is a bit of an odd vehicle from the powertrain point of view. This large sedan is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 in the RWD version of the car. This engine brings you 386 horsepower and 367 lb.-ft. of torque to be plenty of power for you. The transmission is a silky smooth eight-speed version that is perfect in this car to give you the ride you want and 16 city/24 hwy mpg. When you have the AWD version the same engine is used but the power drops to 360 horsepower and 347 lb.-ft. of torque. This is a bit of a different situation for a powertrain and even when the F Sport package is added to the car you don’t receive a bump in power, but this impressive engine offers you plenty for the drive you want to have.

Because it’s a Lexus model, the LS offers you a wonderful list of standard equipment that will make it a great car to drive. This equipment package includes 18-inch wheels with hollow spokes for reduced noise, power door closers, grain matched wood trim, a 12.3-inch display screen, the TFT color infotainment display, rear seat vanity mirrors, parking sensors, a rearview camera, a power tilt and slide moonroof, the Lexus Navigation system with several connections and the ability to link devices to the vehicle. This makes the LS 460 a car that’s generous in its features and certainly gives you a value for the price.

Looking to the options you can have on this car you’ll find the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system, the Ultra Luxury Package, the F Sport Package, an Adaptive Variable Air Suspension Package, the Comfort Package and the Executive Seating Package. These added benefits make it so you can have more of the items you want on this impressive luxury sedan and enjoy the safety of upgraded features to give you the ride quality and collision avoidance that you want to enjoy.

The Lexus LS is a large luxury sedan that can give you more of what you want in a package that comes at the best price in the class. This makes the LS a car that you’ll love driving and not want to have anyone else behind the wheel, which is perfectly fine. If you’re looking for a car that offers the class and comfort you deserve and the excitement you want, check out the Lexus LS as a dealer near you today.
