Built Ford Tough

Sure, a truck can be for the every man, but the majority of truck owners come from labor heavy positions and laborers come in every shape and size; mechanics, contractors, etc. The reality of labor intensive job means hauling, towing, and storing all types of equipment, tools, and occasionally includes hauling other vehicles as well. Most laborer job functions require the usage of a pickup truck and with a flooded market, the decision over which truck is better isn’t always an easy one. Many of the top automakers on the market have a truck in their lineup, so how do you choose?

Typically, one chooses a vehicle based on diligent research and what has proven to be tried and true. Ford trucks have a brand reputation going back to 1948 when the first F series pickup was produced. Over the nearly seventy years that these trucks have been coming off of Ford’s assembly lines, they haven’t waivered in popularity. Spanning thirteen generations, the F-series pickup is one of the nation’s longest running series of vehicles and they haven’t shown any signs of slowing down.

F-150 – Known as one of the most popular vehicles on the planet, the Ford F-150 has forty years of stellar history behind its name. Since 1977, the Ford F-150 has been the top-selling pickup truck on the market. It boasts many prestigious claims to fame, such as best in class gas mileage and Best Full Size Pick Up for several years running. Even the redesign that featured the addition of aluminum to this classic pickup didn’t sway its popularity at all. In fact, the F-150 retained every bit of its popularity after Ford made that major change. The truck is up to seven hundred pounds lighter but it hasn’t lost any of its durability or function.

F-250 – If the F-150 doesn’t suit your towing and hauling needs, enter the F-250 Super Duty. With enough seating for six people and a 6.2L SOHC 2-Valve V8 engine, the Ford F-250 Super Duty is one tough truck. It comes in a variety of flavors, including regular cab, crew cab, and super cab and several different options for trim level. With these options, drivers are able to almost completely personalize their truck to their own specifications. By using the Build Your Own feature on the vehicle’s website, buyers are getting exactly what they’re looking for from a pickup truck.

F-350 – If the 250 isn’t doing it for you, there’s another option. Ford also offers the F-350 Super Duty at a starting price of $33K. While there is little difference between the F-250 and the F-350 when it comes to specs, there are subtle nuances that make it discernable to right eye. While most people see a pickup as a workman’s truck, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be dressed to the nines with all of the bells and whistles from top of the line technology to heated leather seats. Want the best of the best? Go with the Platinum trim level and treat yourself to true luxury, whether it’s a work truck or not.

F-450 – When you’re looking to get serious about your truck, you can’t go wrong with a dually. Outfitted with a 6.7L PowerStroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the 450 is not messing around. There are a variety of optional packages to fully outfit your truck to your exact specifications. From the Camper Package to the Off Road Package, the F450 can be hooked up for whatever you plan to do. With a nearly $54,000 starting price, this truck isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you’re ready for it, then you won’t be sorry.

A truck is a very personal choice for any driver, whether you’re a suburban dad or the female owner of a prestigious construction company. Just as any laborer will profess, the right tools are essential for getting a job done and doing it well. A truck is nothing more than an extension of your tools, and having the right one is also imperative. When it comes to one of the most popular automakers in the world, a Ford truck is the right choice.
