FT-AC: The Plans Aren’t Finalized Just Yet

FT-AC: The Plans Arent Finalized Just Yet

For anyone who has been expecting new models like the FT-AC to come from Toyota for any amount of time, you’re likely going to have to wait a bit longer. Not only is Toyota a brand that takes its time in development because of the reputation for reliability, they also want to make sure there is a serious demand for the models they plan to build and sell so that we can have the ride that makes a lot of sense for us on the road and out on the trails. If you’ve been waiting for a new off-road vehicle to come from this brand, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Those of us who are FJ Cruiser enthusiasts are going to wait longer for what might be the next off-road model that will carry on the tradition that was left behind by the FJ Cruiser. There has been a pair of concepts offered at shows to give us a look at what the next version of this vehicle could be. The first was the FT-4X Concept which ended up being a disappointment but the most recent offering, the FT-AC Concept is a model that gives us the thought that we could see a more engaging small off-road model from this brand.

Continuing the Development of the FT-AC

Toyota has stated there is room for a small off-road SUV that can be offered at the bottom of the segment. Larger models aren’t being thought of any longer, but a compact model could be right for the drive. In fact, the model that could be developed and be the successor to the FJ Cruiser with a smaller wheelbase will be made to compete directly with the Jeep Wrangler and offer us the fun we want when out on the trails and in the wilderness.

Even though Toyota offers us a variety of excellent 4WD models that have the equipment we’re looking for when it’time to have a great time out on the trails, there is plenty of room for a model that falls along the lines of the RAV4 or Toyota Highlander in size and performance. Right now we see a pair of pickup trucks and the Highlander SUV as the ones that offer us the TRD Pro package with all the off-road qualities that make sense for us when it’s time to head out on the trails and have a great time as you travel and enjoy the wilderness.

Right now there isn’t a timeframe that can be offered regarding when the production model of the FT-AC Concept will be created and offered as the off-road SUV that we want to experience out on the trails in our area, but one is coming. The time offered for the development of this vehicle seems to be Toyota time and we will see what it is when it finally heads to production to become the model that we want to take out and enjoy on the trails or next to a lake where we can fish for the day.

An active and small SUV that can give us the ability to have a direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler while wearing a Toyota brand name, is something we’re looking forward to and can’t wait to see when it finally arrives for us to admire and enjoy.
