Onward To 2030: Jeep’s Plans For The Future

Jeep Renegade vs. Jeep Compass

Ask any dealership, any car company, any automotive organization, they will tell you the same thing when it comes to the future of making cars: The future of the automotive industry lies in the possibility and potential of EVs (electric vehicles).

Jeep Is Going Electric

A lot of things changed when Stellantis took over production in 2021, but with that takeover came bigger and better opportunities for Jeep to expand and explore. This included the electrification of some of Jeep’s most popular models.

Every car company and automotive organization around the globe is doing their best to innovate and produce the most reliable and stunning electric vehicle the world has ever seen. Stellantis, the conglomerate corporation that oversees the production of many car brands, one of which is Jeep, is doing its best in creating the EV we have all been patiently waiting for. In fact, Jeep is one of the biggest money-makers for Stellantis.

That being said, Stellantis is keen on keeping Jeep on the up and up. Electric vehicles are cool, but electric SUVs are even cooler. What if you could go off-roading and not worry how much gas you were using? That would be incredible. That is why there is such a fuss surrounding Jeep’s new electric lineup, planned to be released in the near future.

But, as is the case with most automotive manufacturers, there have been some bumps in the road and hiccups to address. Before the Stellantis takeover in 2021, Jeep was working on the release of some hybrid and fully electric vehicles. The take over stalled this, unfortunately, but Jeep is back to their innovative ways, and there is a lot to talk about so let’s dive right in.

The Renegade And The Compass

That’s right the Jeep Renegade and the larger Jeep Compass are getting an upgrade. Starting this year, the two models will be available as e-hybrids (They will not be fully electric). That said, although they are not yet fully electric, this is a massive improvement and a good start for Jeep in the EV category. These cars are not yet available in America, but they are being sold in the European markets. Additionally, both will be made with a powertrain.

These new e-hybrids will not include all-wheel-drive and will have a propulsion system consisting of a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder Miller Cycle petrol engine and a single motor. This comes from Stellantis’ Global Small Engine family. We can expect these new models to hit the American market in 2023 or 2024. If you would like to know more about these models, get in touch with your local Jeep dealer.

Broad Expansion Means More Production

Stellantis and Jeep have recently been approved to start production in China, India, and Brazil. With this in mind, Jeep will be able to more than just produce a larger amount of vehicles and parts. This helps Jeep reach markets that it has not been able to reach up until this point. New markets equals more sales, and more sales equals more profits. It’s safe to say that Jeep is in a pretty good position at the moment.
