The Chevrolet Blazer is going electric, and after the initial launch of the two entry-level trims, the ranging-topping Blazer EV SS performance model will hit dealership lots.

A Blazer EV with Broad Appeal

Chevy’s goal with the Blazer EV SS is to create a vehicle that appeals to everyone. It will have a great style, impressive performance, and all the latest technology. As we get closer to seeing the Blazer EV SS in person, here’s a look at some cool things you’ll want to know about it.

1. The Blazer EV Will Come in Front, Rear, and All-Wheel Drive

While many vehicles offer a choice between either rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the Chevrolet Blazer will offer all three. There are not many vehicles that can do this. When the base 1LT trim arrives, it will have a single motor that powers the front wheels, while the RS will have a motor that sends power to the rear wheels. Other trims will offer all-wheel drive as an option, but the performance-based SS will come exclusively with all-wheel drive.

2. WOW Mode Will Wow Drivers

Like other Chevy and GM electric vehicles in the works, the Blazer SS will offer the WOW driving mode. WOW stands for Wide Open Watts, and it increases power to all four wheels. When in this mode, the Chevrolet Blazer EV SS will deliver 557 horsepower and get 648 pound-feet of torque. Use this mode, and the Blazer EV SS will shoot from zero to 60 in under four seconds. The SS will have front Brembo brakes and feature independent front and rear suspension.

3. The Blazer EV SS Sports Unique Exterior Look

Each of the Blazer EV trims will look a little different from the others, but the SS will really stand out. It will feature LED headlights and a central light bar that will provide animated lighting sequences when you approach or walk away from the Blazer. The top-of-the-line SS trim will also feature a two-tone exterior paint scheme with a black roof and black A-pillars. The unique SS grille even prominently displays an illuminated Chevy logo. The large 22-inch wheels finish the look of the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

4. Screens and More Screens

In the center of the Blazer EV SS dash, you’ll find a massive 17.7-inch touch screen, and in front of the driver, there’s an 11-inch digital gauge display. Chevy made both screens configurable, so drivers can choose what information they want to be displayed. The driver can easily access information such as range and performance on the gauge cluster, and the touch screen sits slightly angled toward the driver featuring a navigation system that will get you to charging stations when you need them.

5. The Sportiness Keeps Going When You Get Inside the Blazer EV SS

The sporty look doesn’t end with the Chevrolet Blazer EV SS’s exterior; it continues into the cabin with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, red accents throughout, and ambient lighting. The SS also comes with added features such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and sporty Adrenaline Red suede microfiber upholstery.
