As the world can become a strange place, and Jeep at one time was under the Chrysler umbrella, things change and the parts of a company that are bought or sold can often come back and bite you right in the hind parts.
This is beginning to take place for Jeep as they take a huge bite out of the market and sales have boomed to the point of surpassing Kia and Dodge as of August of last year. This encouraging boom has been the direct result of some great new products from Fiat with the Jeep name stamped all over them.
This increase in sales is so significant, if it were to continue at that same accelerated pace, Jeep would outsell Ford by the year 2018, but that is certainly not likely to happen. Jeep has always been a name associated with off road highly capable vehicles that need no additional attention, while Ford has a huge array of different vehicles to appeal to the mass market. This makes Jeep a niche player in the game of automotive sales, while Ford is still king of the road which many other have to put their wares up against.
Even so, this increase in sales for Jeep has certainly given Fiat the strength and flexibility to begin work on more Jeep models that may appeal to the masses, such as the Renegade which is the newest model to come out from Jeep.
A rebirth of the Wagoneer might be a great choice as well since so many automakers have begun to look to the past to find their future, but that may be a topic to table for a future discussion. The future is certainly looking bright for Jeep and their signature look continues to carry in a great deal of admiration and a fantastic following.
