Hyundai Is Working to Improve Engine Technology

Hyundai Elantra GT

A recent patent was filed and published by the US Patent and Trademark Office for Hyundai and Kia to develop a high-compression, twin-supercharged, four-cylinder engine.
Typically, we don’t see two superchargers in an engine, and engines that use them or use two turbochargers often have more cylinders in order to be high-performance engines, but that’s not the case with this Hyundai patent filing. Instead, the goal of Hyundai appears to be the creation of a more efficient engine for the smaller cars and SUV that are part of the Hyundai and Kia lineups on the market.

Racing Without The Driver

Racing Without The Driver

We were introduced to Roborace last year with their self-driving race car concepts that could only be described as wild and somewhat out of control. This company has spent the past year working on its concepts and prototypes, many if which it has lost to crashes along the way, and they have finally done what they’ve set out to do. The idea is to have a car that can race around the track without a driver behind the wheel. As this development comes to the track, it seems the race cars we have could become faster and more capable.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars Should be more Popular

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars Should be more Popular

If you haven’t heard much about Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars there’s a reason; there are only two models sold in the US and only forty filling stations in total. Two of these stations are on the East Coast and as you would expect, the rest are on the West Coast. These cars are ones that should already be used more than they currently area but there have been some roadblocks that have kept us from having the development of this technology take place in the US and the only two models offered that are powered by hydrogen are both from Japan.

Find Another Reason to Hate Tesla

Whether it’s Tesla or EV models in general, this is a segment of the automotive world that has become a polarizing topic over the past few years. Yes, EV models are on the rise and ins some places they will be required in the future, but that future is decades away. Those of us that still love our gasoline powered engines will be able to continue to enjoy them for a while longer and have the benefit if the amazing exhaust note made from some of the cars that we love to drive on the road and at the track.

Are We Getting Closer to a Flying Car?

There have been cars that have flown as prototypes and models that were meant as promotional fodder for the masses to be impressed by even if they never would make their way to the market and there have been those attempts that failed which tried to make this an affordable choice. One place this item has shown up many times over and has never quite caught on is at the Yuba County Golden West Air Show which is where a ton of experimental models make their pitch to those discerning skeptics at the show.
