01.22.16 - New TVR Sports Car

The British sports car company TVR has announced it will offer four new models over the next ten years to give us a great menu of amazing sports car that have some interesting and impressive features. These sports cars are expected to carry the name forward as designs and builds will be expectedly impressive and the power will be insane, but what is most interesting about these new cars has nothing to do with the style or the engine.

The new and interesting feature comes from the fact that the chassis will be made from carbon fiber and this carbon fiber will be make at a lower cost than the existing methods that are being used. Offering this feature as a lower cost option will leave more money to buyers of these types of cars to be able to add more to their car. This savings allows customers to spec out and buy optional features to the car including a special Launch Edition of the first car offered with the carbon fiber structure that will be a standard feature of these cars.

In an effort to be able to offer the most impressive forms of their new cars TVR has partnered with Gordon Murray Design for the build. This is the same firm that was the designer of the legendary McLaren F1 which we loved for so long before the P1 makes its way to the market. Not only will Gordon Murray Design create the look and feel of the car, Cosworth will provide the motivation which will help the TVR models be more than worthy to wear the badging of the name on them.

The new technology used for the carbon fiber process is called the iStream Carbon manufacturing process. This is a revolutionary process that will allow the cars from TVR to offer lightweight builds and high performance features to be some of the most impressive supercars we will get to see on the market in the upcoming years.

This new Launch Edition car is expected to be one of the most exciting cars to hit the road in years. The team at TVR are exceptionally excited about the fact that this carbon fiber, which is normally only used for track models, will be able to be used on production models and allow the new car to be the first of four that comes in at a much more appealing price point than some of the models they have had in the past. TVR has been an icon in Britain for their limited production models that have been amazing cars to witness and drive when given the chance.

So far the response for the Launch Edition has been magnificent as TVR has taken over three hundred deposits for the Launch Edition. With this response TVR may close the books soon for this first of the four new cars even before they have brought the car to even the first car show. There will be some events before the first show that deposit holders can attend and learn more about the car they have already put money down on while the rest of us will wait until the car shows up at a car show to see what it brings to the road.
