Looking at the SE and SEL Trims
Elantra SE
The base trim of the Hyundai Elantra is the SE trim. This model has a 2.0-liter engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque. You’ll have selectable drive modes of smart, normal, and sport. This trim has a set of 15-inch steel wheels, power mirrors, and a chrome grille.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find dual-zone automatic climate controls, premium cloth, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and steering-wheel-mounted controls. Enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth, a six-speaker audio system, a five-inch touchscreen, a 3.5-inch display, and remote keyless entry when you have the SE trim. This Elantra model also has a long list of standard safety features including a blind-spot mirror, lane-keeping assist, a driver attention monitor, and forward collision avoidance assist to go along with a rearview camera.
Elantra SEL
Moving to the SEL model adds voice recognition for the Bluetooth system, satellite radio, a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a three-month subscription to SiriusXM radio. Driving aids are upgraded for the SEL with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and an individual tire pressure gauge. Comparing the Hyundai Elantra SEL and Value Edition Models
The Value Edition model of the Hyundai Elantra offers you the same powertrain and wheels as the SEL model. You will find a hands-free smart trunk release and door handle approach lights for the Value Edition model. This upgraded trim also has a power tilt-and-slide sunroof to give you the opening you desire.
The seats of the Value Edition model give you heat in the front, you’ll have a proximity key, push-button starting, and center-mounted cupholders in the rear. The steering wheel and shift knob are both wrapped in leather. You’ll have the benefits of the Blue Link Connected Care and Remote Package. This trim doesn’t have any safety upgrades over the SEL model.
Moving Up to the Hyundai Elantra Eco
If you select the Eco trim of the Hyundai Elantra, you’ll have a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that makes 128 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque. This trim uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for the drive. The Eco trim is the only one to give you idle stop and go technology to improve fuel mileage.
You’ll ride on 15-inch wheels that are alloy rather than steel in this model. You’ll enjoy the benefits of LED daytime running lamps and dual charging USB ports. You lose the sunroof from the Value Edition for the Eco model. If you’re looking for the Elantra with the best fuel mileage, the Eco trim is the one you’re after.
Choose the Limited Trim and Ride in Style
The most luxurious version of the Hyundai Elantra is the Limited trim. This model has a set of 17-inch wheels, integrated turn signals in the side mirrors, LED headlights, LED taillights, and automatic high beams. The sunroof is an option for the Limited trim to give you the open air feeling you want to enjoy.
You’ll find leather upholstery in the cabin, a power driver’s seat, wireless charging, three-years of subscription services, a premium audio system, a subwoofer, an eight-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch gauge screen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and improved safety features. You’ll be glad to have the benefits of adaptive cruise control and safe exit assist with this model.
The Sport Trim of the Hyundai Elantra
The Sport trim is the highest performing trim of the Hyundai Elantra. This model has a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gives this car 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. This model also uses the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Sport model benefits from a multi-link independent rear suspension and the steering has a sport-tuned performance to it as well. You’ll ride on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels with this impressive trim.
Many features offered for the Limited trim are not offered in the Sport trim. You’ll have to compare the two to see if you want to have more performance or if you want to enjoy more comfort in the model of the Hyundai Elantra you choose to drive.
