The electric vehicle market is growing at a rapid pace. Soon, the market will be filled with new names, new models, and electric powertrains.
Only ten years ago, it would have been unheard of for every automaker to offer EVs, but here we are. Not only are we seeing new EVs coming from the brands we know, like Ford, Chevrolet, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, but we also see new names entering the market. Tesla was the first of these new names, but now we see others like Lucid, Canoo, and Rivian.
Here are seven new electric vehicles coming to the market in the next couple of years.
Acura ZDX – Acura Finds Its Way to the EV Market
Honda realized it was behind the rest of the automakers in terms of electric powertrain development, which caused them to partner with GM. The new Acura ZDX will make use of the GM Ultium platform and become the first all-electric Acura. We expect to see this new model in 2024 with its luxury trimmings. The ZDX will be the luxury alternative to the Honda Prologue, which also employs the GM electric vehicle platform.
Alfa Romeo Giulia EV – Electric Eccentric Performance Fun
An electric version of the Giulia should arrive for the 2025 model year, delivering the performance that beats the Quadrifoglio. This new EV should bring 1000 horsepower in the EV Quadrifoglio trim, with the base model producing 350 ponies for a high-performance drive. Stellantis is ready to hit the market with several new EVs, which should offer consumers plenty of great options. This new Giulia uses the STLA large platform with an 800-volt, ultra-rapid charging system and a driving range of nearly 500 miles.
Bentley Vehicles – Five Bentleys Change to Electrification
The Bentley lineup is well-known for its gas-guzzling land yachts that don’t worry about efficiency. This aspect of the ultra-high luxury brand is about to change. Bentley will produce five new EVs, and some should arrive in the market by 2025. The entire Bentley family will change to EVs by 2030, offering replacements for the Bentayga, Flying Spur, and Continental GT, to name a few. This change could also offer an expanded lineup with impressive high-end luxury features and qualities befitting the Bentley name.
Chevrolet – Four New EVs Are Coming
We’ve anticipated new electric vehicles from Chevrolet all year, knowing the Bolt EV would be pushed out by better models. The Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and Silverado EV should all arrive before the end of the year, offering impressive new versions of the names we know. The Blazer SS EV should hit the market early next year to add the high-performance version of this new midsize electric SUV. Another electric Chevy on the horizon is the Corvette EV, which could hit the market in 2025 to give us an incredible new performance machine.
Chrysler Airflow – Will the Chrysler Name Reemerge
Currently, the Chrysler name is down to two models, and that could be only one when the Chrysler 300 is gone. Could a strong lineup of new EVs bring this name back to a strong position in the automotive world? The new Airflow is a concept model right now but could be part of the lineup by 2025. In addition to a 400-mile driving range, the Chrysler Airflow is expected to bring Level 3 autonomous driving capability.
Ford Explorer EV – The Next Big Thing from Ford
Ford has become a strong leader in the electric vehicle market, giving us the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E already. Next, the Ford Explorer EV will join the lineup, and it should be available before the end of the year. This new model should bring a few options for powertrains and provide the space and size expected with the Explorer name.
Jeep Recon – New Name With Jeep Capabilities
One of the newest Jeep names entering the market is the Recon. This small off-road SUV brings a strong electric powertrain to provide the zero emissions driving we want in new EVs. The Recon will have removable glass and doors while also offering a retractable roof and rear-mounted spare tire. This new electric Jeep brings the trail-rated capabilities desired to handle fun and adventure out on the trails while also being comfortable when on the road. Currently, we don’t know how much power it has or the driving range, but that information should arrive before the Jeep Recon hits the market in 2024.
These are only seven of the new electric vehicles hitting the market over the next couple of years. There are many more from nearly every automotive brand which completely transform the auto world.
