This is quite inexpensive for a vehicle of this age, and it’s even less than the cost of a 2009 Charger. Since it’s about 13 years old, it shouldn’t be difficult to find an affordable price.
Seventh Generation Dodge Charger Reliability
The seventh generation of the Dodge Charger began in 2011, and again, it took a few years to work out the bugs. The 2013 is the first of the seventh generation to garner better reports, though it still has some concerns with interior accessories and the HVAC. The 2014 saw a spike in problems, so the next year to look at is the 2015 model with its redesigned exterior.
The 2016 Dodge Charger also falls into a slot of good reliability, though it did have some transmission issues. The 2017 and 2018 models of the Dodge Charger were basically the same. Annual repair costs are the lowest with the 2017 model at $542. This model year range is the sweet spot to look for at your Dodge dealer. It’s just old enough to be affordable, while still being new enough to have plenty of modern features.
Last Years of the Dodge Charger
The 2019 through 2023 model years of the Dodge Charger are considered the most modern and will generally be the most expensive on the used market. The 2023 Dodge Charger is only a year old, so the owner reports aren’t quite enough to judge its reliability. As an outgoing model at your Dodge dealer, you might be able to find a good deal on this final model year.
For the 2019 through 2022 model years, reports on the 2019 model are mixed, and there isn’t enough data to make a fair reliability judgment on the 2020 through 2022 models. These models will obviously be more expensive than earlier years as well.
