Taking Luxury Off Roading Seriously

11.30.16 - Cadillac XT5

You might not think you should take your Cadillac off road in fear of the damage that could happen when it comes to being on the trails, but the new XT5 wants you to take it out on the trails and enjoy the luxury of the Platinum AWD model that can be one of the most fun and impressive AWD vehicles to enjoy off the beaten path to find the right way to get to the lake or camping spot for the weekend. This SUV may be all luxury, but it’s also as tough as they come when you look at the crossover market.

While the base XT5 starts out under $40,000 this trim level does come to you for a price of $63,845 and gives you a 3.6-liter V6 engine that has 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to a smooth shifting eight-speed automatic transmission to return 18 city/26 hwy mpg for you, making a fairly efficient vehicle for you to drive and enjoy.

As the first of what will become a four SUV lineup from Cadillac, the XT5 fills a role as the midsize model, leaving room for one above and two below this model to give you a full lineup on the near future. Hopefully this won’t mean that Cadillac is somehow so late to the party that we’ve moved on to something new and more popular, but the XT5 is certainly a great way to begin the lineup and is a vehicle you can take on the trails and have a lot of fun while enjoying the amazing performance this SUV offers you that goes right along with the comfort of the XT5.

Cadillac has done an impressive job of adding technology where you want it, inside the vehicle. Not only do you have the benefit of the 4G LTE Wi-Fi system and a possible head up display, but this SUV gives you Apple CarPlay connectivity and Android Auto to ensure you have the phone integration you want. The CUE infotainment system has been upgraded and there’s a plethora of great driver assistance features for you to take advantage of including the Rear Camera Mirror System which ensures you have a view of the rear of your vehicle no matter what you load in the back of the XT5.

The new XT5 has a lot to offer you and even gives you the ability to tow a trailer or boat to the destination when needed. With the soft ride of the Magnetic Ride Suspension system you’ll hardly notice the way this SUV rides even on the trails. Let the XT5 be the right new SUV for you as you take it wherever you need to go. Don’t be afraid to have this SUV on the trails, its more than capable and able to give you a vehicle that’s a lot of fun to drive with a powertrain that will make a huge difference on and off the road for you.
