GMC’s Ruggedness Shows Strength in Sales

After posting a result for the first quarter of sales for this year that gives the brand an increase of 9.4 percent, GMC is working hard to make sure they can keep up with the demand for the products offered. This result was the strongest first-quarter sales ever for the Acadia and Terrain models with the Terrain showing up with a 38 percent increase compared to last year. This increase in sales and increased demand have caused the brand to look for ways to bring more models to the market faster for us to enjoy the drive.

The first place the GMC brand turned to for an increased capacity is the Spring Hill Assembly facility in Spring Hill, TN where the GMC Acadia is built. This plant recently added a third shift of workers to keep up with the significant demand for this midsize SUV. The plant that builds the Terrain is already running three shifts to make enough of the compact SUV model that offers us the rugged and impressive build that we’ve come to admire for the drive desired on the roads and trails in our area that we travel for fun and for work.

Even More for the Fun from GMC

Right now, the GMC brand is seeing improvements in the sales numbers and one of every two buyers who are new to the GMC brand people are choosing the Terrain as the new model they want to enjoy driving on the road. This makes the Terrain an important part of the market where compact and midsize SUV models account for more than one-third of all industry sales right now. This means the premium SUV models offered by GMC is positioned for the growth that makes sense for the drive and the future.

In addition to the Acadia and Terrain models that make a difference in the drive in the midsize and compact SUV market for GMC, this brand still offers us the full-size Yukon and Yukon XL SUV models that are able to lead the luxury segment and continue to perform perfectly for you on the road. The GMC family of SUV models is complemented by the only premium truck lineup in the industry with the Canyon, Sierra, and Sierra HD models that can be chosen in the Denali trim to give you a nearly luxury feeling when you drive.

As we look at what GMC will give us in the near future, we see the next generation of the Sierra Denali trim and a new off-road Sierra AT4 that will be offered in the upcoming months to give you the off-road qualities you’re looking for to have the fun you want on the road. These new trucks will only enhance the offerings from GMC and continue to help this brand grow and succeed as one of the few brands on the market that competes in this segment without any cars in the lineup. GMC is certainly poised to take advantage of the success already begun this year.
