There have been generations of sporty models offered that come from the automakers that we have in America. The turn of the century has brought us some interesting and admirable domestic sports cars that offer the drive and the fun that we love to enjoy when it’s time to get out on the road and experience the open road. America is a large country and the sports cars we’ve loved gives us room to move and enjoy everything about the drive.

Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbo

The model from the years 2008-2010 of the Cobalt SS Turbo was a car that gave us the fun and performance that we loved and enjoyed on the road. Powered by only four cylinders, this little car could give you 260 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque to have the impressive drive needed when it’s time to get on the road. This car also used a five-speed manual transmission and offered a suspension that could handle the ride the right way.

Ford F-150 Lightning

If you wanted a quick and performance-oriented truck to drive, the Ford F-150 Lightning from 2000-2004 was the truck that you could drive and enjoy. This truck offered you a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that could give you 340 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque which was improved to 380 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque later in the life of this truck.

Pontiac GTO

High performance in a coupe that offered sleek style and the name you admire came in the form of the Pontiac GTO from 2004-2006. This car used a 5.7-liter V8 engine under the hood and that meant you had 350 horsepower and 365 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. The final version of this car increased the size of the engine to 6.0-liters and the power to 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque making this a seriously fun sports car.

Dodge Challenger SRT8

Before the introduction of the Hellcat model of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 offered you the power you wanted from 2008-2009 with an awesome look and the 6.1-liter V8 engine under the hood. This car gave you 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive to make sure you can have the amazing ride you’re looking for when you wanted to have fun.

Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR

Ford felt this car was the King of the Road and that’s what the KR stood for in the name of this car that was offered from 2008-2009. You could easily see why they felt this way when you saw the 5.4-liter V8 engine that was capable of giving you 540 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. This car was a lot of fun on the road and at the track.

Cadillac CTS-V

The original version of the Cadillac CTS-V came on the scene in 2004 to give you the amazing performance and drive that you wanted. This car could be taken to the track for some fast laps and it gave you the smooth comfort you desired for your regular ride. The power for this car came from a 5.7-liter V8 engine that made 400 horsepower and pushed this power through a six-speed manual transmission.

2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R

Only offered for the turn of the century, this car showed up with the most no-nonsense track-ready build that we had ever seen in a Mustang. Every item on this car was made to improve the overall performance when taken to the track to show off. Dodge Viper ACR

If you wanted a car that would test your driving skills in every way, the Dodge Viper ACR was the one that did just that. This car used a massive 8.4-liter V10 engine to give you the 600 horsepower you wanted to enjoy when you took it out on the track. If you had this car, you were going to have a lot of fun every time you took it for a drive.
